Colt Starting Clinic Diary Series: Day Six

0502_01

In the May No Worries Club video, we take members back to Professional Clinician Jeff Davis’s Colt Starting Clinic. It’s day six of the course and participants are ready to take on the second half of the clinic and make more progress with their horses. The focus is on teaching the colts more groundwork exercises and giving them their fifth and sixth rides. New groundwork exercises introduced to the horses include the four Backing Up exercises from the Fundamentals Series, Yielding the Forequarters, and the head-shy exercise Flipping the Rope. Under saddle, riders begin teaching their horses the basics of steering and start gaining control of their hindquarters.
