Excited About Horsemanship Again

I wanted to thank you guys. I’ve been part of the No Worries Club for a while now after being introduced to it by my instructor, and it has become an invaluable tool helping me with my horses. What I love most about it is that it works for everyone.

I’d had the same horse for a while and had totally lost confidence in myself and my horse. I would panic and he would regularly take off and bolt with me. He was also very pushy, and there was no leader in our relationship. I tried a lot of instructors locally, but they couldn’t help with my issues and lack of confidence. One instructor said to me, “You still got that horse? He’s wild; it’s all or nothing with him.” When my horse was 12, another instructor told me that he would never change.

I met a new instructor, Duncan Tait of JD Horsemanship, when I brought my second horse, a mare who had just finished racing. I felt I needed help with her retraining. Duncan has spent years learning horsemanship and helped me realize that in order to change my horses, first, I needed to change. He introduced us to the Method and encouraged me to join the No Worries Club, which has helped hugely. I love the fact that Clinton has videos on almost everything and every issue that can come up, meaning I can learn at my own pace at home, too. The only downside is my boyfriend has had no choice but to learn the Method, too!

I have followed the Fundamentals Series and have just bought the Intermediate, which I am looking forward to. My horses have responded amazingly to the Method, and I really believe it’s because it has changed how I am. They have the leader they want now. I’ve been so lucky as my instructor at JD Horsemanship has allowed me to go and watch him every weekend for the last four months as he works with different horses with different issues.

I honestly can’t thank you enough, my confidence in myself and my own ability has risen and I have gone from crying and having a melt down with a horse to riding a horse and leading my other one bareback in halters and learning how to back youngsters. My aim next year is to compete both horses in show jumping and dressage. I recommend watching Clinton Anderson to everyone I know with horses. It’s got me excited about horses and riding again.
