From World Titles to World-Class Ranches

Clinton welcomes Don Bell, a high-profile ranch broker and one of the most multifaceted figures in the equine world, to the Uncut & Real Raw podcast. Don’s resume reads like a highlight reel of Western excellence. He’s won multiple American Quarter Horse Association World Championships and Quarter Horse Congress titles in the halter pen, earned his AQHA judge’s card at a remarkably young age, and built a reputation as a horseman with a sharp eye, strong opinions and an unwavering respect for quality. And that’s only the beginning.

Don is also a talented Western artist, capturing the grit, beauty and authenticity of ranch life through his work. He married Joetta, an accomplished horsewoman, in 2003, and the couple made their home in Texas, where they’ve raised their daughters.

Over 20 years ago, Don traded showing halter horses for the cutting pen and has developed an appreciation for the equine athletes and the people who raise and train them right.

Most recently, Don has made a powerful name for himself as a premier ranch broker, representing and selling some of the world’s most iconic and historic ranches. His career has placed him at the intersection of horsemanship, business, land stewardship and Western heritage—giving him a perspective few can match.

Don’s conversation with Clinton covers everything from his early days in the industry to what it really takes to succeed at the highest levels of the horse business. They dive into judging, trends in the industry, the realities of ranch ownership, and the hard-earned lessons that only decades of experience can teach.
