If Santa left you a shiny new headstall, a well-oiled bit and a set of mecate reins and slobber straps under the tree this year and you have no idea how all the pieces go together, Clinton’s got you covered. In the training resource, “Attaching Mecate Reins to the Slobber Straps and Headstall,” he demonstrates how to correctly put a mecate bridle set together. You’ll learn how to attach the slobber straps to the bit and loop the reins through the slobber straps and fasten them correctly.

The step-by-step training guide also explains what to do with the lead rope portion of the reins while riding your horse.

Once you’ve got your bridle put together, Clinton will step you through the process of how to safely tie your horse up with mecate reins. It’s one of the most-loved features of the durable reins.
